Hi there!

We have a totaly freezing spring here.

And it happened, that we had to spent three days in that cold.

This is all about Kaziukas market – the market we have every year in the beginning of the spring. The market is about the traditional Lithuanian stuff – wooden spoons and stuff like that.

Thanks to the Hotel Of Things, we had ‘Another Kaziukas market’ – the place, where all the designers could sell their stuff – none of the wooden spoons could been found there.

As usual, will not interrupt and will not disturb you from watching the pics.

Enjoy!

See ya!

Yes, it’s plenty of that beautiful white thing around us.

Some clever people where talking, that this is the snowiest winter in Lithuania during last 15 years.

There is lots of fun of course, but to tell the truth I miss my bike allready.

But let’s start with winter and all of it’s beautiful snowy things.

Before the after

2010 January 21

Hi everybody!

Just short explanation for that strange name I have for this post – all the pictures you’ll see here are taken before the post before.

Some of them are taken even in autumn I think (bad thing is to be late with the pictures – then I start to forget when, where and why all the things happened. Shit)

So, let’s begin with the things that happened befor the after.

before_the_after (1)

That one  I took in October I think.

Just wanted to check it out how that sweet spacey view will look on the film.

before_the_after (14)

One more autumnish view – this time checking out the fog on the film.

before_the_after (2)

Let’s move inside – our beloved CAC café.

Had a cozy chat with Artūras.

before_the_after (3)

before_the_after (4)

People are doing things while talking.

Artūras is pointing mostly.

before_the_after (5)

We started with inside activities – lecture+movie is one of them.

Some preparation.

before_the_after (6)

And here we go.

Strange thing is to see the desktop on that kind of TV.

before_the_after (7)

The view from Dalia’s and Lukas’ flat vindow.

It’s the building of Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.

They changed their logo like two years ago, but still have the old one on the building.

Latelly it started to fell apart (or they started removing it really slow).

before_the_after (9)

At Kristina’s place.

After having few beers Domas decided to teach Allan to speak Lithuanian.

Sometime he is stubburn as hell.

before_the_after (10)

Kristina + Motiejus.

before_the_after (11)

before_the_after (12)

Same time same place.

before_the_after (16)

Some random shots now.

Karolis took this one.

At his place before starting to watch District 9 – one of must see movies.

before_the_after (15)

The other day we wanted to play curling (it had to be a birthday surprise for Tautvydė), but some guy from lithuanian curling associacion (or something like that) did not arrange it for us.

So what we did was skating on ice.

To tell the truth it was cool – just after skating for an hour or so I remembered that I hat the camera.

So I took this one.

before_the_after (23)

Discussing some projects with Martynas.

before_the_after (8)

Dalia checking some negs.

before_the_after (17)

Some strange jazz concert – the main guy was crazy enough to play with all the thing he found in his surroundings.

before_the_after (18)

Same place, different perspective.

before_the_after (19)

They were eating so expressive I couldn’t hold myself not to picturing them.

before_the_after (20)

Somehow they fit to each other.

before_the_after (21)

Bon appetite!

Don’t miss the other guy’s activity;)

before_the_after (22)

The wonderful house just in front our doors.

before_the_after (25)

Little bit of cleaning…

before_the_after (24)

… and cooking.

before_the_after (26)

Martynas capturing the super thin slice of lemon.

before_the_after (27)

Yeah!

before_the_after (28)

Artūras is pointing while talking…

before_the_after (29)

…and Dalia is showing her hands.

before_the_after (30)

before_the_after (31)

Bad way of heating the wine.

before_the_after (32)

That’s Kaunas and it’s Christmas tree.

before_the_after (33)

We went to the workshop in Juodkrantė and made lunch stop in Kaunas.

before_the_after (34)

London has it’s eye.

And Kaunas does.

before_the_after (35)

Next stop was in Klaipėda.

Fooling arround in supermarket.

before_the_after (36)

It lasted not for to long – shortly after I took this one the security guy came.

before_the_after (37)

Look from driver’s seat.

before_the_after (38)

Dinner.

Yes!

before_the_after (39)

Next day.

Karolis pretends to feel great after yesterday’s evening:)

before_the_after (40)

The aim of the workshop was to design something from the things or materials found on the see shore.

So, we started.

before_the_after (41)

Crew.

before_the_after (42)

When you find something…

before_the_after (43)

… you have to share it with your friends.

before_the_after (44)

Karolis found his way of beeing beautiful.

before_the_after (45)

Next we decided to do was to move the log.

before_the_after (46)

And bring it…

before_the_after (47)

… back to where it belongs.

That’s what Lithuanian designers are doing in workshops.

before_the_after (48)

It was bone or something Paulius found.

before_the_after (49)

Back to the working place.

before_the_after (50)

Creative thinking.

before_the_after (51)

The birth of the second project.

before_the_after (52)

before_the_after (53)

Let it be the light.

before_the_after (54)

before_the_after (55)

Ūla – the organizer.

before_the_after (56)

before_the_after (57)

Moving Indoors

2009 November 09

Can’t tell I’m shooting a lot these days.

Think it’s normal to stay indoors for the bigger time of the day when it’s the ending of the autumn here.

But still – we’re having great time and here are some moments I want to share with you. Maybe they are a bit fragmentary, but that’s how it goes when shooting mostly indoors.

Enjoy!

moving_indoors-1

Martynas + mic.

We’ve been interviewed by Domas for the TV show he is working for.

moving_indoors-2

The view in front of us.

Preparing the tricky question.

moving_indoors-3

The idea was to shoot  us while we were working.

So, I was shooting Martynas’ cupboard and they did all that TV thing.

I should post all the shooting I did for Martynas during last year.

Maybe next time;)

moving_indoors-4

Some snapshots.

moving_indoors-5

moving_indoors-6

After all the photo-video work we went to have lunch.

Martynas communicating the pizza.

That was a mistake to order that huge thing. (1/3 was brought for Dalia)

moving_indoors-7

This was the week when everybody got sick (Dalia is visualizing this)

Friday. Having beer.

moving_indoors-8

Having beer and chating.

moving_indoors-9

moving_indoors-10

Having beer and chating in a basement.

(Dalia doesn’t look so sick anymore. Beer?:)

moving_indoors-11

Ūla’s birthday…

moving_indoors-12

… party for grandparents and grandgrandparents

moving_indoors-13

Ūla was speaking the poems and I just couldn’t stop shooting these faces.

moving_indoors-14

What an attention!

moving_indoors-15

Yes!

moving_indoors-16

Another birthday.

Ku’s this time.

We were standing in front of the place he works.

It says “Thanks for beeing born, Donatas!”

moving_indoors-18

Here he comes!

moving_indoors-19

moving_indoors-21

It’s about beeing happy.

moving_indoors-22

We decided to wrap all the balloons into the poster.

What a fancy font for such a place:)

Interesting how does that place look like.

moving_indoors-33

I saw this ‘couple’ just in front of the main entrance to the spa center.

It’s the first thing you see when entering the building.

Very strange.

moving_indoors-34

The evening. Still in Druskininkai.

Went to listen to some jazz.

Breakfast.

Dalia is checking the chandeliers.

moving_indoors-36

Other trip.

My sis driving.

moving_indoors-38

My sis singing on the back seat of her car.

I was driving back, so, took this one from the driver place.

moving_indoors-39

My mum running.

moving_indoors-41

Went to listen to the opera.

The conductor’s notes looks like used for some time.

moving_indoors-42

This one was from Anthony Minghella, but still ballet is way better for me.

moving_indoors-43

Similar image.

In cinema this time.

Still of Kim Ki-duk’s ‘Dream’.

moving_indoors-44

Playing pool is really good way of spending time indoors.

moving_indoors-45

moving_indoors-47

Don’t know what they were doing, but looked beautiful.

moving_indoors-48

He looks so danish in this one:)

moving_indoors-49

Eagle-eye.

moving_indoors-50

Rude one.

moving_indoors-51

Saw this the same evening we were playing pool.

On the dumpster this time.

Cool place to stick it.

moving_indoors-54

Dalia had some problems with her eyes, so, we had to go to the hospital to check if there is nothing serious.

Was waiting in the lobby for an hour or so.

This was the view in front of me for all that time.

moving_indoors-55

And this is clinic I had to visit because of my finger injury i got while playing the basketball.

Loved the numers (and not just that;)

moving_indoors-56

Dalia the evening before leaving to Thessaloniki.

She made a beautiful shot there btw

moving_indoors-57

Some working-while-drinking discussions in the bar in front of the laptop.

moving_indoors-52

Ūla fooling around.

moving_indoors-53

National Gallery Of Art.

A tribute  for great film (tri-x).

Unhappily I could shoot just this one because of not so friendly security guy.

moving_indoors-58

Dalia’s friend Kristina came to Vilnius so we met at cac.

moving_indoors-59

Same place, different time.

moving_indoors-60

moving_indoors-61

And the last one is about All Soul’s Day that just passed.

Every year we go to the graveyard to light up some candles.

2009 October 14

Finally I’m back.

This post will be a bit bigger than usual, since I have some pictures that didn’t fit to the previous posts.

And of course there will be some images from last weeks.

autumn_comes_in_series

I took this one at the 1st of September in front of one of the schools in Vilnius’ oldtown.

It says “We take you from home to school”.

autumn_comes_in_series-2

Andrej and his fancy sunglasses.

autumn_comes_in_series-3

Father and daughter.

It’s allways funny how Andrej is looking at his camera – through the top of his glasses.

autumn_comes_in_series-4

Allan joined us.

Some dicussions about having a party at Sla’s place.

autumn_comes_in_series-5

Same day. Going to the party.

Decided to use public transport.

Dalia at the bus station. Eating the yoghurt.

autumn_comes_in_series-6

In the trolleybus.

autumn_comes_in_series-7

In the bus.

It took like an hour or two to go to Sla’s place.

It’s something like 15 km, but still it’s faster to go by bike.

autumn_comes_in_series-8

Chatting at Sla’s place.

A bit to dark for tmax100.

autumn_comes_in_series-9

The day when Tautvydė’s and Domas’ TV program launched.

This one is about the glass.

autumn_comes_in_series-10

The poster for the weekend of conteporary circus.

Somebody wrote on it ” Thanks, for not using the animals. (The bear in the wheel.)”

autumn_comes_in_series-11

The evening before Luka’s wedding.

Sitting on the Užupis bridge.

autumn_comes_in_series-12

To the wedding topic.

Still do not understand why to do this?

autumn_comes_in_series-13

A tribute to the bikes.

autumn_comes_in_series-14

Having dinner at salad bar.

Really loved the light (’talo wall’ from artemide;).

autumn_comes_in_series-16

autumn_comes_in_series-17

autumn_comes_in_series-15

Multiple exposures is one of the features I really like in FE.

autumn_comes_in_series-19

Having coffee with Sla.

autumn_comes_in_series-20

My adidas sis.

autumn_comes_in_series-22

Iri came from Barcelona.

Met her in the street and decided to get a new haircut.

Some final touches.

autumn_comes_in_series-24

Stuck in traffic jam in front of Panevėžys’ car market.

Domas decided to get a bike, so, we went to Panevėžys to search for one.

Did it in really un-ecological way – went in two cars – one for Domas and his new bike, the other – for Dalia and me.

autumn_comes_in_series-25

Ready to browse the market.

autumn_comes_in_series-26

An expert look.

autumn_comes_in_series-28

Domas telling somebody what a wonderfull bike he bought.

(the old-school cover with the kid says ‘first steps’)

autumn_comes_in_series-27

Here we got some super delicious poppy rolls.

(the sign says “The Picture Shop. Respublikos str. 40, Panevėžys”)

autumn_comes_in_series-30

Browsing the road-map.

We had to go to Bronius’ cottage to his birthday celebration.

autumn_comes_in_series-31

We picked up the longest but the most interesting way trough all these beautiful small villages.

It was the potato-digging time.

We stopped by the roadside and I saw this one coming. A romantic countryside view with the clouds:)

autumn_comes_in_series-32

Back to the cars.

autumn_comes_in_series-33

Kavarskas was on our road.

We saw this more-than-20-years-old-sign (”café” it says) and decided to stay for a lunch.

autumn_comes_in_series-35

Entrance.

autumn_comes_in_series-34

We had small and tasty dumplings.

After that I went to the toilet, was passing the kitchen and saw the old lady making them manually.

autumn_comes_in_series-36

Some other village.

autumn_comes_in_series-37

Finally we came.

Just before the sunset had one basketball match.

After that Sla and Judita came. Judita throwing the ball.

autumn_comes_in_series-38

autumn_comes_in_series-39

Just after the sunset.

The dew fell, so we had to finish the game.

autumn_comes_in_series-41

We moved to the fireplace.

autumn_comes_in_series-42

autumn_comes_in_series-43

Domas blowing the fire.

autumn_comes_in_series-44

The result (multiple).

autumn_comes_in_series-45

Inside one of the houses.

This watermelon did it’s job in the morning;)

autumn_comes_in_series-46

And that’s the morning (the day, to be exact)

autumn_comes_in_series-47

Warm-up.

autumn_comes_in_series-48

autumn_comes_in_series-49

Thrower+watchers.

autumn_comes_in_series-51

Capturer.

autumn_comes_in_series-52

Drinker+watcher.

autumn_comes_in_series-50

Catcher.

autumn_comes_in_series-53

Ready-to-swim-runners.

autumn_comes_in_series-54

A bit different weather here.

autumn_comes_in_series-55

Talking about Dalia’s PhD topic.

autumn_comes_in_series-56

Random shot from Sla’s farewell party (he is leaving again – to Lion this time).

autumn_comes_in_series-57

Dalia and Lukas invited us to go to Ginučiai (village in Aukštaitija National Park).

Usualy I’m driving when going somewhere so I felt a bit strange sitting in the back seat (don’t remember when it happened for the last time).

That’s why I shot this one (funny air-freshner, btw:).

autumn_comes_in_series-58

Lukas getting some water from the well.

(strange way to do that:)

autumn_comes_in_series-59

Feeding the calf.

That was funny, cause he was drinking like a pump – he emptied three buckets in something like 10 minutes.

autumn_comes_in_series-60

Enough, a?

autumn_comes_in_series-61

Went to pick some mushrooms.

autumn_comes_in_series-62

Pointing at the woodpecker.

autumn_comes_in_series-63

The weather was autumnal already – bit to cold to swim.

(we did it next morning, btw)

autumn_comes_in_series-64

Back from the woods.

autumn_comes_in_series-65

Sisters at CAC café.

The light was beautiful there so I decided to make some series.

Somehow it happened, that there are a lot of series in this post.

(that’s why the name)

autumn_comes_in_series-66

Got some ice-cream (it’s the best place for ice-cream with chocolate – you should try when you didn’t;)

autumn_comes_in_series-69

autumn_comes_in_series-70

Changing the angle.

autumn_comes_in_series-68

autumn_comes_in_series-71

Evening office at home.

autumn_comes_in_series-72

Ku and his working hairstyle.

autumn_comes_in_series-73

He looks like accountant.

autumn_comes_in_series-74

A wild one.

autumn_comes_in_series-75

Coffee with sis.

Little series here.

autumn_comes_in_series-76

autumn_comes_in_series-77

autumn_comes_in_series-78

This was my mother’s birthday.

She’s talking to her sister.

autumn_comes_in_series-79

We went to Druskninkai to spend some time together and to have some water procedures.

autumn_comes_in_series-80

Chatting in the SPA center hall.

autumn_comes_in_series-82

Lunchtime.

autumn_comes_in_series-83

My mum.

autumn_comes_in_series-84

Changed to the tri-x here.

autumn_comes_in_series-85

Liked the result – will use it for sure.

autumn_comes_in_series-86

Next series.

This one about Julijonas talking.

autumn_comes_in_series-87

autumn_comes_in_series-88

autumn_comes_in_series-89

autumn_comes_in_series-90

This was the presentation of his “Talking Doors”

autumn_comes_in_series-91

Look who we have here!

autumn_comes_in_series-92

Still talking.

autumn_comes_in_series-93

autumn_comes_in_series-94

Cheers!

autumn_comes_in_series-95

autumn_comes_in_series-96

That evening was about talking. For sure!

autumn_comes_in_series-97

In church.

Since some of us missed the doors presentation, Julijonas aranged an extra one next morning.

His in-front-of-the-camera face.

autumn_comes_in_series-98

Through the door of Music Academy.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

That’s it.

Don’t get cold!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Tech.

As usual

Nikon FE+Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D AF+Kodak tmax 100+Kodak tri-x 400

And here I am again.

Ready to start second part and to tell what an intense time we had in past few weeks.

So let’s get back to the story about Ieva’s and Kamazas’ wedding eve party.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-4

Domas, known as a TV star edditing some matterial.

This one I took the evening before that party started.

Domas was edditing till 8am and after that had to shoot Kamazas during next day’s events.

Poor guy.

Here I should explain how everything went.

We made kind of a game – Ieva and Kamazas had to visit 9 different points in the town (separate from each other) to fulfil 9 different tasks.

These places were somehow important to them and the tasks as well.

The schedule was pretty strict – like 20 min for each of the tasks. (you’ll know later why)

I took part just in some of them.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-6

Here is the first one.

We (Kamazas and me) had to run in circles in the place our former swimming pool was (we did it when we were kids, that’s why such a task).

Somehow we ended up earlier we had to, so we had some time for tea with milk.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-7

These are first frames I took with my Nikon FE.

Totally fell in love with that camera.

The light in that restaurant was perfect so I couldn’t stop shooting.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-8

why_at_the_same_time_part2-9

why_at_the_same_time_part2-10

why_at_the_same_time_part2-5

Since we had some time we were chatting about the new camera I just got.

And somehow I mentioned that FE is capable of making multiple exposures.

Kamazas couldn’t believe it so I did this one just to prove it to him.

Find the result not so bad.

(have better ones already, but in the next post maybe)

why_at_the_same_time_part2-12

Kamazas gets a new task.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-13

why_at_the_same_time_part2-14

He had to go to the swimming pool and to swim 200 meters or something like that.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-15

Since I was driving a bike, I accompanied Kamazas while going to the place of the next task.

Then I left him with his brother.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-16

Ieva in Sla’s car.

I took part in the next task Ieva had to fulfil.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-17

why_at_the_same_time_part2-21

Sla the cameraman.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-22

The task took part in the flat where Ieva and Kamazas moved in after their wedding.

The task was to make the drawing of the flat and describe it to the camera.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-19

Ieva talking about upcoming every day life.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-24

Posing.

What a wonderfull light (like that in the background).

why_at_the_same_time_part2-25

As you can see we are in the (train) station and that’s the reason for our strict task schedule – we had not to miss the train that leaves at 3pm

why_at_the_same_time_part2-28

Allan came to say see you soon (he came by car a bit later)

why_at_the_same_time_part2-27

I wonder what was the story about. (I took that one through the train window)

why_at_the_same_time_part2-26

Punks not dead.

They almost missed the train.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-30

Together again.

I really like the idea putting them together for the second part of the wedding eve.

Espcially that they didn’t know anything about it.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-29

why_at_the_same_time_part2-31

Domas+beer.

He deserved it.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-32

Had two huskies in the train.

Took this one for Martynas.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-33

Sla producing some electricity in Judita’s hair.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-34

Really like shooting in the train.

On one hand it’s cause of the light on the other people don’t see me so I can feel free.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-35

Some discussions.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-36

why_at_the_same_time_part2-38

The map of the place we had to find.

Antanas drew it to me in the morning on some beautiful sheet of paper.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-39

Our group in the forest.

Pretending we know where to go to.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-40

Finally we reached the place.

Just when I got the rolls developed, I understood it was raining.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-41

Elegant way not to get wet.

Like that one a lot.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-42

This is the practical one.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-43

Tool that saved the day.

You should ask Kamazas about that.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-44

Good morning, Sla.

This is the next day already.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-47

Breakfast tea and some strange food.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-46

Dalia in the woods.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-48

Punks still not dead (I mean Bronius’ hand)

why_at_the_same_time_part2-45

Packing the tent.

The causers of the party decided to leave a bit earlier.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-49

Preparing some food again.

Actually I understood that while staying in the forest you just eat, drink and sleep.

That’s cool.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-51

Realy important thing is to enjoy the views.

We had a wonderfull one in front of us.

Some canoeists enjoyed it too.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-50

Back to the daily routine.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-53

why_at_the_same_time_part2-54

Sla and Domas decided to go for a swim (I did it a bit earlier)

The temperature of +15 is to be mentioned.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-55

I saw them having a little chat so decided to join.

This one is one of my favorits.

Love the light very much. To tell the truth I prefer shooting in a cloudy day to the sunny one.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-56

View to our camping place.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-52

Dalia picked some cade.

She took it’s bark off to make the frankincence out of it.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-59

These who left earlier called to tell, that the train was like two or more hours late.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-58

why_at_the_same_time_part2-57

Just before leaving.

We cooked some potatoes in the fire. And left it for a bit to long in there.

Dalia showing what’s left.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-60

We decided not to miss the last train so we left.

Domas walking in front of me.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-61

Did some walking…

why_at_the_same_time_part2-62

…and some talking while walking.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-63

Yes, it looks similar to this one.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-64

Domas fooling around with the rails.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-66

Waiting for the train to come.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-68

Waiting and chatting.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-69

And here it comes.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-70

Pretty usual view when coming back from Zervynos.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-71

Here we jump some days ahead.

The evening before Ieva’s and Kamazas’ wedding.

Sla putting a roll of a film into the Practica LB2

Dont’ know if he used it at least ones till now.

Did you, Sla?

why_at_the_same_time_part2-72

So, the big day.

Had to pick up the bride.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-73

Wedding took part in a really strange and cool place – Liepkalnis.

This is the skiing base originally.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-85

So, this was the view we had.

(like that bus the most:))

why_at_the_same_time_part2-81

Allan did some filming.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-75

The great moment (like Sla’s serious face:)

Ieva and Kamazas decided to be merried by us – friends and family.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-74

Happy ones…

why_at_the_same_time_part2-76

…and the crying ones (happy although).

why_at_the_same_time_part2-78

why_at_the_same_time_part2-79

why_at_the_same_time_part2-80

This guy just climbed up the hill with his bike.

Somehow I like that one.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-82

I don’t realy remember the sequence, but I think it is time for the dance.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-84

why_at_the_same_time_part2-77

I really like this one.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-86

Sun went down and the party begun.

This was our party house.

(used one of the cars as a tripod to take this one)

why_at_the_same_time_part2-87

Some more multiple exposures.

why_at_the_same_time_part2-88

why_at_the_same_time_part2-89

Yes, you are right – Ieva got a new hair-cut.

Domas did it.

Looks cool!

why_at_the_same_time_part2-90

Let this one be the last one in this post.

This is the night view of Vilnius we had.

Just wanted to try the auto function of my FE – set the aperture to 22 and left it to count the time automaticaly.

After 45 minutes I found it still open with the big green grasshopper on it (the black line in the sky is it’s leg I think).

During this period a plain flew in fornt of the camera (the airport was ahead). The white line in the sky are the lights of that landing plain.

I like the picture (most because of it’s story;)

So, that’s it for today.

Have fun!

Some tech.

Nikon FE+Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D AF+Kodak tmax 100

This question is so often to hear in past few weeks.

We have to arange lots of birthdays, weddings and other events (not to forget huge amount of projects I’m working in) so it’s a mess in my head and around me.

Nevertheless, think it’s worth it  ’cause we’re having great fun.

Have some more rolls to develope after last week-end and was thinking about posting some days later, but decided to split all the pictures in two parts (a bit afraid of forgetting the details).

Let’s start the part one.

why_at_the_same_time-2

Lunch some other day.

Martynas and Jurga.

Marčius just some days before leaving to studies at Design Academy Eindhoven.

Would like to have some beer with you, man.

Cheers!

why_at_the_same_time-3

why_at_the_same_time-4

why_at_the_same_time-10

Same evening.

Martynas farewell party.

Cosy one.

why_at_the_same_time-7

why_at_the_same_time-5

Dalytė and Paulius had to leave to Berlin next morning.

Her efforts to convince Paulius to leave.

why_at_the_same_time-9

Paulius won.

More time to stay and the place in the chair.

Which was in the good-light-position, b.t.w.

why_at_the_same_time-11

We met Luka and Laurius at CAC bar to hear them telling they are getting married (they were third ones that month).

Why such an angry look?

why_at_the_same_time-62

Antanas making notes about the things to be needed during the wedding-party.

why_at_the_same_time-12

Luka was somehow passionate that evening.

Laurius seemed not to like it :)

why_at_the_same_time-13

Luka’s look.

why_at_the_same_time-18

Užutrakis again.

Yes!

Dalia is going crazy.

why_at_the_same_time-19

That’s wonderfull way of taking pictures…

why_at_the_same_time-20

…and cleaning the lens.

why_at_the_same_time-21

Reading books.

The one in the front – “Guide for tourists”. Printed in 1959 in Soviet Union.

Got that one in flea market.

First it was funny reading that soviet propaganda crap.

But than I started thinking how difficult the life during that period was. There is the way to prepare shoe-glue or fixing agent (5 types of it)to be found in that book and  how to sew a sleeping bag or fix a broken bike’s frame.

I was talking about it to my father and said it had to be really difficult times to live without having all the usual things and services we have today (I was 7 when Lithuania got free so can remember just some details of everyday life in those days).

And I realy liked his answer.

He said, that people used to be much more creative then than now.

why_at_the_same_time-25

Riding bikes.

Somehow it happened that I had 20mm f/2.8D on so decided to use it.

On the left column it’s written ‘we ar gays’. Why should anyone write things like that?

why_at_the_same_time-22

Evening with tea and books on the grass in front of the White bridge.

why_at_the_same_time-23

Like that lens.

But not to often.

why_at_the_same_time-26

And here comes the TV star.

Domas was shooting the announcement for the tv program he started to work for. And asked us to help a bit.

why_at_the_same_time-27

Some last guidelines.

why_at_the_same_time-28

Some more.

why_at_the_same_time-29

Using the equipment.

why_at_the_same_time-30

If you shoot for television, you have to use the balloons.

why_at_the_same_time-33

Tv star has good lungs.

why_at_the_same_time-31

why_at_the_same_time-32

Domas’ tv-face.

why_at_the_same_time-34

Kamazas and Ieva came to.

Congrats, b.t.w. !

why_at_the_same_time-40

Tv-car in a simple way.

Like the people on the sidewalk.

why_at_the_same_time-41

Tv-driver.

why_at_the_same_time-42

View from the tv-car.

(sidewalk again).

why_at_the_same_time-43

why_at_the_same_time-39

why_at_the_same_time-38

Checking-up the results.

why_at_the_same_time-37

Having coffee in Terasa after shooting.

He looked somehow strange in that place in that suit.

why_at_the_same_time-46

The view from the balcony.

See it every moring while having breakfast.

Realy like that sun.

why_at_the_same_time-44

Same place, different time.

Coffee time.

(Sla has to do everything in his way).

why_at_the_same_time-45

why_at_the_same_time-17

The other day I met my schoolmate Kasparas.

(Mantas with him).

He was so surprised when I took out the camera, so I decided to make just one pic.

why_at_the_same_time-16

Other random picture.

We went out to swing with Ūla.

I was turning around with her just to take a shot.

Felt so dizzy after that, thought will puke.

Think the frame is worth it.

why_at_the_same_time-48

Playing table games on the Tauras hill.

Had to end faster than expected, ’cause the rain came.

But still, it’s good idea to go out and play table-games on the grass (than they become grass-games, which is also good)

why_at_the_same_time-51

Here we have Domas watching basketball during the quiz-evening break. (we’re still playing)

why_at_the_same_time-49

And same Domas being nervous ‘couse of his job.

why_at_the_same_time-50

Still nervous.

why_at_the_same_time-52

This was Sla’s birthday.

We decided to meet in front of the cathedral…

why_at_the_same_time-56

… and the participants of the Critical Mass decided that as well.

why_at_the_same_time-57

Some others came

(Bronius trying to understand how that damn camera works)

why_at_the_same_time-55

We had beautiful evening sun.

And a bunch of bikes.

why_at_the_same_time-58

This is the other day and preface to the second part of this post.

We were planning the wedding eve for Kamazas and Ieva.

why_at_the_same_time-60

Studying the map of Vilnius and making some realy important notes.

why_at_the_same_time-61

Yeah!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hope to post really soon again.

See you!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here I am again.

And have some random shots from here and there – some usual lazy summer mornings, days and evenings.

To tell the truth I’m working as hell lately and have a bunch of pictures on digital and film from about three or four sessions (hope to post them here or on my web in some weeks if they still will look like worth it to me).

But let’s get back to the lazy things.

thats_how_the_summer_goes

Karolis in Užutrakis.

We still spend a lot of time in that wonderful place.

Like the atmosphere and evening light in this one.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-2

More shots, same evening.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-3

thats_how_the_summer_goes-4

Don’t remember the story about this one…

thats_how_the_summer_goes-5

…but remember this one.

Martynas washing watermelon in the lake.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-63

Like how the evening sky bounces in the water and makes it’s surface so real in these two.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-7

thats_how_the_summer_goes-8

The result of the whole-day-fishing-sunburn on Martynas back.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-9

Quiz evenings play realy important role in our lazy summertime.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-10

But they are never lazy for Domas.

He is so involved in it all the time.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-11

He’s listening to the correct answers as they would bring him a million.

A bit different emotions in Ievutė’s face.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-12

Chilly moment.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-13

Some other evening.

Martynas and his (yellow) Moskvitch.

Great parking habits.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-15

Same evening a bit later.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-18

Dalia+evening light.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-19

Domas, Sla and me, we where having lunch at woo, when this guy came.

He needed like 33 cents from each of us to get home.

After we gave him some he sat at our table and talked about this and that.

There are some people who are looking at all the directions but the person they are talking to. The guy was 100% that type.

He said, he was a journalist, asked about what we are doing for living and gave each of us a magazine according to the answer.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-20

Sla reading his one.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-21

Some friday. We went to Dalia’s and Lukas’ place for the dinner and some table games.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-22

The view from the balcony.

Like all the layers in this shot.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-23

We had some wine…

thats_how_the_summer_goes-24

…so, the table games evening became a bit wild.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-25

Decided to go out.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-26

Since it was a wine evening, we picked the tapo d’oro wine-bar.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-27

This one illustrates the spirit of that evening pretty well.

Can’t tell I was sober, but these three were shot on 1/8th hand – held.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-29

One of the halls in CAC exhibition “Big In Japan” – all the surfaces covered with toy railes and toy cars.

The creation of PARAMODEL.

Incredible.

I think that guy makes the pic.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-30

Ku and his MINI’s spare parts (some for micro climate control).

thats_how_the_summer_goes-31

These guys are repairing the trolleybus wires.

Every time I see them, they are just talking like in the pic – and just after half an hour of discution they start repairing something.

Their speech topic usualy has nothing to do with their job (they are talking how to hang kitchen cupboards in this one).

thats_how_the_summer_goes-32

Playing football near the Baltasis bridge (to tell the truth, we where simply kickin the ball to each other)

Lately I shot a lot in the evening light – adore that, especially on b&w.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-33

Laris came by one evening.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-34

Where talking about this and that.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-35

This fancy guy took part as well.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-36

The still-life I found one day in the living-room.

Dog’s comb + breadboard. Delicious combination.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-37

This one is from Dalia’s ount birthday.

The thing I really like about this one is that the overexposion makes her (Dalia’s cousin) look like a doll.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-38

Justas singing from his little daughter’s book.

Strange, but he can sing just from the notes.

Don’t know how to sing at all. Especially can not imagine how is it possible to sing from the notes.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-39

Dalia searching some worth-to-read books between give away ones at her parent’s place.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-40

Ūla gave her a helping hand.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-41

Our balcony is a really lovely place to chat.

Martynas came by one day.

His thinking-while-smoking face in this one.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-42

And here we have our new favorite place to eat.

This turkish guy Alli (don’t know if I write it right) is preparing incredible turkish food.

And has wonderfull tea as well.

Domas waiting for one.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-43

Tasting…

thats_how_the_summer_goes-44

…and working.

Can not understand the idea of having two mobile phones.

The one I have is already to much for me. But two…

thats_how_the_summer_goes-45

After eating and working he decided to give some attention to this little ladybird on his wrist.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-46

Ice-cream time in Lukiškių square.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-47

Dalia bought some bran.

After I asked her how will she use it, she understood, that the manual is to be read.

So, she did.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-48

Very carefully.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-49

It’s the same evening, when I remember it correctelly.

Goda asked us to come to her bbq party.

Preparing to that.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-50

Going to Goda’s place.

The evening light (again) in Gedimino street.

We are passing this way every evening when going to meet some people or just when having a bike ride.

Decided to have a pic of this view.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-51

So we came.

Was night already and I had t-max 100 loaded, but decided to try.

This one taken with self-timer, camera put on the knee.

Something like half a second.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-52

Allan and Domas telling the story about Christmas duck and latvian guy’s journey to Lithuania to get one.

The n2020 makes three shots when newly loaded.

One of them.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-55

Breakfast in Vasaknai manor.

Was shooting for them and had to stay there for the whole weekend. (these are the pictures I’m going to post. Some others as well)

Dalia came with.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-54

It was jus a bit cloudy – perfect weather for shooting…

thats_how_the_summer_goes-58

…and swimming.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-57

thats_how_the_summer_goes-56

This one is one of my favorites (think I shoud overexpose more often)

thats_how_the_summer_goes-59

On the way back.

Dalia decided to search for some tutsan.

The challenge is to find her in this one.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-60

Dalia shooting Molėtai observatory.

thats_how_the_summer_goes-61

I found these two flies somehow strange in that modern place.

The font as well.

So, that’s how the summer goes.

See you soon!

2009 July 23

Hi there!

Decided to start posting in english – just to be understood in more places.

Hope, my broken english will not kill you.

I’ll post random pictures from last few weeks.

So, let’s start!

ku_21

Ku in Dalia’s sunglasses.

Like that his face is blurry.

dalia_3

Started shooting while driving the bike.

A bit dangerous, but worth it.

zoles

Užutrakis is the place where we spend the bigger part of our freetime.

It is strange, how the time of the day can be changed just by over- or underexposing.

This one taken at 4 p.m. – looks like an evening.

ranka

lasai

priezero

These three taken almost at the same time.

Dalia took the last one.

marcius_1

Same place, other day.
Martynas preparing…

marcius_neria

… to dive.

grzita_vyrai

marcius_foto_1

Would like to see picture Martynas made  – should be a bit motion-blurred.

dalia_1

This was my birthday.

Dalia looks somehow diferent in this one.

dalia_2

Going to meet some people.

alltau

Celebration began on the ‘table’ hill.

Like the emotion in this one.

all

Don’t know why Allan decided to dress like that.

This was the last one I took in color. (That evening and till now).

20090716scan400_04

This one was the first b&w frame I made after 11-th grade. This is kodak t-max 400.

Got the manneqiun as a present and had to bring it home by myself.

So, I fixed it on my bike. (ok ok – just a half of it)

20090716scan400_06

20090716scan400_01

Fooling around.

20090716scan400_09

Rap is cool.

Like the arrow sign in this one.

20090716scan400_10

After Dalia hit the car (not the other way round) she’s using the zebra every time she’s crossing the street.

20090716scan400_07

Back home.

The friends of mine made the bar of the place we are living in.

They got the beer-pump and other things that belong in the bar.

The best part of it was that I haven’t had the idea, that they are making this.

Was a bit shocked (in a positive way) when I came in.

Thanks folks!

20090716scan400_14

Antanas – crazy barman.

Did his job great!

20090716scan400_18

In the balcony.

1/8th (by hand)

20090716scan400_17

Martynas, Karolis and Vespa.

20090716scan400_12

Ieva + wig.

As you can see the further the evening went, the blurrier pictures became.

So, I decided to stop shooting.

20090716scan400_23

Next day.

Had a celebration with Dalia’s family.

The garden was full of grill smoke.

20090716scan400_20

Ūla eating…

20090716scan400_22

… and washing her hands in the puddle.

20090716scan400_21

Evening. Preparing to leave.

20090721scan100_01

Some other day.

Breakfast in balcony.

Kodak 100 t-max.

20090721scan100_02

And breakfast in Pilies Kepyklėlė with Dalytė.

This is the only place, where I feel like being a tourist in Vilnius.

I thing, it’s because of the tourist- they are passing by talking all the possible foreign languages.

20090721scan100_04

They where marking the street.

It’s strange, how the bouncing light made that sign glow.

20090721scan100_18

This was shot some other day, but it fits here.

The bike roads in Vilnius are wonderful.

20090721scan100_08

Dalytė’s unkle got new dog.

20090721scan100_10

In Užutrakis again.

It sais “Parking area. Unguarded and for free”.

Have some strange feeling every time I have to leave my car there.

20090721scan100_11

Not far away from that parking place.

Decided to try the bench in the no-name bus stop.

20090721scan100_15

Ku+laptop.

Like the reflection of LCD in the eyes.

20090721scan100_19

Saw this guy in Gediminas’ street.

It’s a bicycle-coffee-machine that use gas to get the pressure.

They can sell coffee wherever they want. Cool.

20090721scan100_21

Evening beauty procedures.

That’s it for now.
