point and shoot

2011 July 19

I’m back after more then a half a year.

Somehow do not feel like shooting on film anymore – have bunch of developed rolls that I did not not even scan yet.

Maybe some day I’ll do this.

“And now to something completely different” as it would sound in Monty Python’s flying circus.

Got myself a small digi point and shoot and will try to be way more productive than before.

First one here.

The Last One

2010 November 28

Hello everyone!

If you thought I was dead, I wasn’t. And if you thought I forgot my log in or psw that’s also not true.

Was doing this and that and shooting a bit.

Since I was shooting A BIT this post will be the last in the style I was used to post it.

I’ll try to make it in a bit different way. But you’ll see it next time.

And now a bunch of pics starting from the end of the summer.

last_one_001

Guys playing pétanque in the woods

This was Sla’s birthday (it means, the shot was made on 28th of August – damn I’m lazy with shooting)

Leaving to London.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_015

Plain was late as usual.

But this time it was weird since the pilot decided to explain how some things on the plain do not function and how they will be fixed according to Boing’s manual.

Good to have a manual.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_016

Arrived.

The hospitable hosts – Giedrė and Aidan giving us lots of London-hints.

Same place.

Light was HUGE to.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_024

Just outside tate.

Two girls facing the wall while eating.

Just focused on them and then suddenly got this peace sign.

Compared to NYC felt so noticeable in London.

Lithuanian?

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_026

Tate again.

Britain this time.

See Dalia’s picture here.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_034

Rain.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_035

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_037

He used it as a megaphone – was singing into it.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_038

At the pub.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_039

Was surprised to see these empty streets.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_041

Morning coffee+cake

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_040

And the view in front of us.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_042

We took a walk by the canal.

Was surprised to hear, that people are living in these boats – it has to be hell cold there during wintertime.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_066

Same place, different angle.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_067

In NYC I made some mobile communication series.

The men in suits were the series I made in London

(these are smaller as the amount of time I spent in GB)

This guy was so surprised I was capturing him, that he looked behind him four or five times.

(this one goes into I-was-spoted series too)

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_068

This time I was waiting till he turns at gives me a look.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_069

Just outside the Photographers Gallery.

Saw the great exhibition of Sally Mann.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_070

The balance is way better with a suit.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_071

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_078

A hip shot.

It was cloudy all the days and I was shooting on tri-x almost all the time. And then suddenly this sunlight.

On the other hand it’s not so bad – it’s possible to take pictures like this one – f22, 1/125.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_079

Leaving that beautiful light.

lakes_is_for_swimming_london_is_for_museums_080

Last glass of London Pride and last sunrays in London.

Here comes the fun

2010 August 10

Hi all after a hell long time.

Have to admit, felt a bit strange shooting back home after all these views in NYC.

It could be the reason why it took so long to this post.

And maybe it is the reason why this post will be randomish as hell.

With one happy event in the end;)

GO!

here_comes_the_fun_001

In one of the most beautiful terraces in Vilnius spent some time there reading.

Got this damn bronchitis so had to forget the swimming and bike riding for almost a month.

Happy can do this again. Yeah!

here_comes_the_fun_002

Random.

Katrė in front of the pond.

Hangovered morning.

here_comes_the_fun_003

At the seaside.

Don’t think it’s necessary to translate.

I’m always surprised what people are ready for to gain some money.

100721_scan_003

Even drive this weird vehicle to sell some snacks.

Almost in the water.

here_comes_the_fun_004

In Klaipėda.

Have to admit it sounds way better in lithuanian than when translated.

Somewhere in Klaipėda.

Looking for a place to eat.

here_comes_the_fun_006

part_two_021

This italian guy wins the comunicating-on-the-street competition.

Smoking a cigar while talking skype with his laptop in a park.

part_two_022

Back to story-telling.

96th was our station.

part_two_023

In a subway.

I wonder when LT freelancers will have that kind of union with that kind of  initiatives.

Nice logo btw.

And sorry for that awful framing.

part_two_024

This one is so cityish.

(and I do not miss the focus)

part_two_025

100% NYC

I wonder what kind of heat has it to be to steam when it’s +25C outside.

part_two_026

part_two_027

These girls where so loud while making the candyfloss themselfes.

part_two_028

part_two_029

Then they asked me to take a picture of them and I droped their pocket camera.

I’ m happy, that all I had to do to make it function again was to put the battery back.

Uff…

part_two_030

Subway and helvetica again.

The guy behind the pillar was not so happy about me taking the pic.

part_two_031

That was so funny that Dalia was sleeping in subway all the time.

All she had to do was to step in and to sit down.

part_two_032

Central Park.

Searching for Jogaila monument for Dangis.

Sorry for the postcar view, but the buildings, the pond with the boats

and the guy with the tripod made me to take this one.

part_two_033

Streets again.

part_two_034

This was a cozy place not far away from the place we lived.

part_two_035

part_two_036

It’s America, man.

What a surfaces and what a light!

(this time scanner did well – even the Chrysler is visible)

part_two_037

Close-up with 35mm is not so beautiful for a girl’s face.

Usually.

But not this time;)

part_two_038

Dalia’s new toy.

Unfortunately it’s back to Adorama ‘cuz of the transport failure.

Hopefully they’ll fix it.

part_two_039

Times square.

We were passing this place way to often.

part_two_040

Long live the designer of that t-shirt:)

I thought the “Y” is on the back side, but it isn’t:)

part_two_041

I do not know a shit about fashion, and maybe it’s a really cool brand, but you have to be radio dj to pronounce that at the first time.

part_two_042

You have B&H photo video and you have this:)

part_two_043

On the way to see the ocean.

part_two_044

It was a bit different from the beaches we were used to.

(this could go to the comunicating-on-the-street series, but it fits better here I think)

part_two_045

All the people were so different from these in Manhattan.

part_two_046

No comments again.

part_two_047

Mexican restaurant on the way back in Brooklyn.

part_two_048

Just before the LCD Soundsystem concert.

It was an hour late, so we took a walk.

part_two_049

And found a park in front of the river.

part_two_050

These bike drivers were so fast I had to wait for couple of minutes to cross the road.

part_two_051

Waiting.

part_two_053

Murphy rocks.

part_two_054

I know, that it’s strange to take pictures during the concert and even during that kind of concert, but I could not resist.

And do not regret that.

part_two_055

That’s weird.

part_two_056

Subway.

part_two_057

What a hell is rodenticide?

It’s not good for rats that’s for sure.

part_two_058

‘No drugs on premises after dusk or 7:00 P.M which ever comes first.’

part_two_059

Dalia+book.

Everywhere.

part_two_060

A fast subway.

part_two_061

Not far away from the UN.

part_two_062

I know, that this one could have  been different – more classical – the guy with the trolley more right, the lines horizontal.

But I like it the way it is – it’s more live, more of the moment.

part_two_063

Making post cards again…

part_two_064

…and again.

part_two_065

Like the hands.

part_two_066

The girls were waiting for me quite often – everything was too b&w arround me.

part_two_067

I just do not understand – how can you like to sit on that kind of mad horse?

(it looks like screensaver with that url at the bottom right btw)

part_two_068

It looked like a toy.

part_two_069

part_two_071

Dalia conquering the Smena.

This park under the bridge had perfect grass and the view was nice.

Just one thing I can not understand – how these people do not react to that deafening subway noise.

part_two_072

part_two_073

At Cooper Hewitt.

part_two_074

X-large.

part_two_075

Light!

part_two_076

They are writing everywhere and everything.

Like the emergency evacuation one.

part_two_077

part_two_078

“Good stuff”

part_two_079

Guys singing in front of the Metropolitan museum.

Had some good time while waiting for girls to come out.

part_two_080

In china town again.

This guy saw me taking the picture and I felt like he was posing.

Or just did not give a shit about me.

part_two_081

Some shots one has to take when one’s in nyc.

part_two_082

part_two_083

Just do not understand why to put that kind of sign?

Not to get ones feet wet?

part_two_084

In Williamsburg.

In front of our favorite place.

part_two_085

The guy beside us.

(also fits to the comunicating-on-the-street series, but this one’s more about the beer)

part_two_086

The last day.

In Williamsburg Dalia taking picture…

part_two_087

… of Manhattan.

part_two_088

On the way back.

part_two_089

And what about surprise-birthday-party?

part_two_090

On the door of the place we lived in.

Leaving to JFK.

part_two_091

I was to weak to carry all the luggage so we took a cab.

part_two_092

Snacks before the flight.

Delicious KFC burger.

part_two_093

Safety instructions on the screen.

Funny animation.

part_two_094

Was sleeping a bit.

Then woke up, took this one and fell asleep again.

Travelling back was way better.

part_two_095

Kiev.

Took this one and the soldier stoped me from taking others.

part_two_096

The view that describes the Kiev airport perfectly.

part_two_097

Plane to Vilnius.

I think this is what they call fluffy clouds.

I did.

After a bit of a time I’m back.

This time with bunch of pics from New York.

Since it’s realy a bunch, I’m dividing it into two parts.

This is the first one, the second should come up in few weeks.

Enjoy!

part_one_001

We were flying from Riga.

Had to come to Riga’s airport in the evening and to leave in the morning.

The still-life we found just in front of the entrance.

part_one_002

In front of this entrance.

part_one_004

We found an area covered in wood and decided to rest there a bit.

Martynas – the perfect example of beeing able to sleep wherever he wants.

part_one_003

Me and my sis we are not so good at sleeping in some strange places, so we took a look at the airport from outside.

(f2, 1/4th iso 100 I think)

part_one_005

The dawn in the airport.

Feeling a bit strange already.

But just a bit. Yet.

part_one_006

On the way to Kiev.

Ignas was the guy from LT flying with us to N.Y.

And even to the same exhibition centre as we did.

part_one_007

Kiev.

The weather outside was so damn summerish and we had to stay inside that strange building.

part_one_008

So, we went to the bar.

That time was really dizzy.

part_one_009

In the plain.

Finally.

It took 12 hours to go to N.Y. (because of the Iceland ash cloud we had to go from Kiev through Norway, Greenland and Canada).

And 10 of these hours was daytime.

This sleep lack allmost killed me.

part_one_010

New York!

I allmost do not remember taking this one – in more than 36 hours I had less than 3 hours of sleep.

part_one_012

After a strange sleep we went out.

Up was the direction we were looking at.

part_one_013

part_one_011

All that town is so damn black and white.

part_one_014

So black and white and so fond of helvetica.

part_one_015

The map is the thing you have to have in the place you don’t know.

Sometimes it’s the problem to understand that thing.

Mind Martynas’ smart face.

part_one_016

It’s still smart.

part_one_017

All three I shot in the sequence it is shown.

Somehow I like this crop illusion that appears looking in all of them.

part_one_018

People looking at Ground Zero.

To tell the trouth only when I saw that place I understood what actually happened there.

part_one_019

That’s the place we went afterwards.

part_one_020

part_one_021

Chinese guy hiding his face.

part_one_022

A bit different surroundings here.

part_one_023

We were still looking up.

part_one_025

part_one_026

Again a tribute to helvetica.

part_one_027

We were living on west 92nd so, had perfect surroundings.

A view from the terrace.

part_one_028

part_one_029

And then we took a walk.

It was really strange to see all the things we used to see in the movies.

part_one_030

Cabs and water towers.

part_one_031

part_one_032

part_one_033

What a tourists.

part_one_034

Lincoln square.

part_one_035

The girls trying to take some pics of fountain.

part_one_036

Do not remember if they succeeded.

part_one_037

part_one_038

This one is about the traffic-light and still about looking up.

part_one_039

Shortly entered the central park.

What a light!

part_one_040

It’s America, man.

part_one_041

Never saw that kind of light anywhere else.

part_one_042

It looked like that truck was put on the stage.

part_one_043

That’s a busy town New York.

part_one_044

Came home shortly.

Martynas exploring the roof.

part_one_045

That was a really cool place we stayed at.

Thanks, Monica!

part_one_046

part_one_047

It’s Williamsburg.

These girls really enjoy synchro shooting.

part_one_048

Found a place to eat.

The evening light was so soft there.

part_one_049

part_one_050

part_one_051

A bit different place compared to Manhattan a?

That was the main thing I really loved about New York – you for sure will find a place you like.

part_one_052

Cheers!

part_one_053

We changed the bar.

The note on the doors tells everything.

It became our favorite place.

part_one_054

The aim to go to N.Y. was to participate at Designboom mart.

It took place during ICFF at Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre.

Beautiful building.

And also so black and white.

part_one_055

Martynas and John – the funny guy – testing some paper furniture.

part_one_056

Leaving the center.

Decided to have some meal.

part_one_057

Do not know the story – just turn around and saw this.

part_one_058

This one is about contrast.

Kodak plus x btw – best film I’ve ever tried.

part_one_059

In the bus.

part_one_060

Martynas -  the face man.

part_one_061

John – the face man to.

part_one_062

Steve – the painter.

Since he’s native NewYorker he’s the guide.

part_one_063

Where else could you get that type of sunlight?

part_one_064

Cheking out the Steve’s portfolio.

You can view it here.

part_one_066

Later that night.

I’m curious how long does it take to read all that information.

part_one_067

The other day on the way to the mart.

part_one_068

Lunch.

If I remember it right, the place was called blind pig.

part_one_069

In Tribeca.

Were browsing for some place to spend evening.

part_one_070

Were thinking about visiting this place but somehow it did not work out.

part_one_071

Then we came home and found bbq party there.

part_one_072

part_one_073

Monica – the hospitable hostess.

part_one_074

Going somewhere.

Martynas making fun of us taking pictures all the time.

part_one_075

Cool place in Williamsburg.

part_one_076

On the way home on w92nd.

part_one_077

In the bus.

I already wrote, that when it’s written not to do something it is the sign, that people like to do that.

part_one_079

The place where the girls were drinking refill coffee for three hours.

part_one_080

MoMA yard.

Visitet the exhibition of Henri Cartier-Bresson.

part_one_081

MoMA yard again.

part_one_082

On 5th avenue.

‘Open to the public’ made me laugh.

part_one_083

The angry twins.

part_one_084

All these parking places are enlighted as they would like to sell all the cars inside.

part_one_085

The end of the part one.

Hope you liked it.

Wait for the second one;)

Cheers!

Aha!

Hi to everybody!

It’s been quite a time I’ve posted something.

That’s why I have a bit more pictures to show.

Everything is spinning around so fast lately – that somehow makes all the things better than they are.

Start!

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake

One of the million Oval meeting we have lately.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (2)

Writing down some taglines.

It’s actually really strange, when you understand that one or the other of your old friends have some skils you never knew they have

(meaning Domas’ ability making estimates or smth similar:)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (3)

Last snow we had.

(think it’s the end of april – can be wrong)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (4)

And then the flood begun.

It’s beautiful what a power the water has.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (5)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (6)

Furniture fair.

Business talks.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (7)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (8)

Sun. Finally.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (9)

Random.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (10)

They hang the flowers on the wall later.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (11)

Drop.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (12)

Kristina’s birthday.

(1/4th if I remember it right)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (13)

Rimas Morkūnas.

That guy looked so much happier comparing to the last time I saw him.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (14)

They figured out that Domas’ father and Rimas used to play in one band in university.

They listening to their beloved piece.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (15)

Somehow all the talkings in that house become so sentimental every time.

Sla, come home!

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (16)

Wow!

I switched to color for some time.

Found some basic color film in the fridge and decided to check it out.

First try at Karolis’ place just before the screening.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (17)

Fancy pancy.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (18)

Artūras – the author of the post name.

It describes the mood of the last month so damn right.

Cheers man!

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (19)

It’s Domas’ birthday.

Can somebody tell me why they all decided to be born on the same month???

Was cold actually.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (20)

Do not remember the story.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (21)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (22)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (23)

Looks like movie still.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (24)

Chatting.

It’s Reala already.

So yellowish.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (25)

Can’t tell I really like these color pictures.

But since I was a bit spring mad – it seemed to me that the color film is what I need.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (26)

Beer in the pocket.

Sounds strange.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (27)

Domas got an assignment.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (28)

Took a closer look.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (29)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (30)

Second part of the task.

Like the way these two are helping.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (31)

Poor guy.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (32)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (33)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (34)

Marshmallows.

Strange.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (35)

Martynas playing Domas.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (36)

Fire keepers.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (37)

Fire lovers.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (38)

Random shot from the country side.

My grandmothers dog.

What a friendly fellow.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (39)

Finally the end of the colour.

Antanas birthday.

We decided to go to the TV tower restaurant and to have a look at our lovely city.

And then we got the fog.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (40)

Adore the tones.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (41)

Some national stuff.

I loved the structures here.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (42)

Leaving.

What a light.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (43)

The shoe in the garage.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (44)

Paulius had to build a model of the new Nike Mercurial for the presentation.

Take a look at some moments.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (45)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (46)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (47)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (48)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (49)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (50)

Paulius demonstrating why he can not work with the protecting glasses on.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (51)

You can hurt your self badly with that kind of sight problems.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (52)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (52a)

Same place different task.

Building a present for Karolis.

Some electrical problems.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (53)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (54)

Let there be the light.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (55)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (56)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (57)

Finished!

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (58)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (59)

Proud guys.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (60)

While we were sitting in the basement, there was a beautiful spring outside.

These two were standing in the same place for two or more hours.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (61)

Evening light.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (62)

Karolis’ birthday.

Actually it’s the morning after the birthday.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (63)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (64)

Reminds me this one.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (65)

Bicycling again!

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (66)

Spring at CAC.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (67)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (68)

Got a new hair-cut.

And yes it reminds this one.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (69)

Had a party at our’s.

The view from the balcony.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (70)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (71)

Just before Ūla’s singing lesson.

They have to run before starting.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (72)

We had a lunch after that in a strange chinese restaurant.

Really strange place.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (73)

Family.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (74)

In the opera house.

Brake.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (75)

Foodie.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (76)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (78)

Kėdainiai.

We were going to Šiauliai and stoped in Kėdainiai.

Still can not understand how they managed to build it like that.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (79)

The place we had coffee.

Mind the flags.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (80)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (81)

It sais:

” Thanks for not throwing the toilet paper into urinal! Thank you.”

These kind of notes describes the people that are entering the place pretty well.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (82)

Manor whe stopped at on the way.

Sad that all these places are so unkept.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (83)

Still-life at home.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (84)

First sitting-on-the-grass-having-drinks evening this year.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (85)

Martynas passed by.

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (86)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (87)

you_take_a_chain_and_then_it's_a_lake (88)

Yeah!

Hope you liked it.

Have fun as usual, but differently.

Long live the snow!

2010 March 21

Since this winter was so hell of a snow time, we gave much of attention to it.

In the moment I’m writing we have just very few leftovers of that white thing outside (hopefully, it will stay like that)

Take a look what we had for last weeks.

Shot as usual on Nikon FE+tri-x and the square ones are from Yashica D + 160NC

Enjoy!

long_live_the_snow_001

The other day in a park.

We had such a soft light.

long_live_the_snow_002

My point of view.

long_live_the_snow_003

Having wine.

Sometimes it happens to be to close, but it doesn’t disturb me at this one.

long_live_the_snow_004

On the way home.

F2/, 1/4th iso400 if I remember that corectly.

long_live_the_snow_005

At Karolis’ place.

Julius getting ready for a movie.

long_live_the_snow_006

Dangiras, the teacher.

Was shooting for Oval and the article about his dance lessons.

Made some analogs as well.

long_live_the_snow_007

long_live_the_snow_008

On the way to Kaunas.

Was hell of a freezing day.

long_live_the_snow_009

At Dalia’s grandparents place.

It’s important the sign and how the the cars are parked.

And it’s important, that the signs are  hand-made (sometimes the people are so strange:).

long_live_the_snow_010

Dalia’s talkings.

long_live_the_snow_011

The example of a city planning.

First they build the monument, enlight it and then – the palace.

Nobody is interested in changing the lights.

The result – shadow theatre.

And this – in the centre of a capital.

long_live_the_snow_012

Visited Gariūnai – the bigest market area near Vilnius.

View to thermo power-station.

(’11th row’ it sais on a stick)

This is again the case I do not miss the focus.

long_live_the_snow_020

Justė – the head of  “Paper Bar” in Hotel of Things.

long_live_the_snow_022

Love the way they prepare the coffe (feels like home;)

long_live_the_snow_023

long_live_the_snow_024

Professional way to check the wine quality.

long_live_the_snow_025

Home sweet home.

long_live_the_snow_026

In Užutrakis (the same place we love visiting in summer)

Allan running on the frozen lake.

Photo lessons…

… attract people.

long_live_the_snow_030

Fooling around.

Some wine-talkings in wonderfull CAC light.

Argue in Oval meeting.

Dangiras’ opinion.

‘Attention: we recognize unknown cars very quickly’

long_live_the_snow_038

At Café de Paris.

They had this wonderfull smoke, light and music.

long_live_the_snow_039

Am I wrong about the light?

long_live_the_snow_040

The balcony of Lithanian Opera and Ballet Theatre – it’s been ages since the last time I was watching the performance from that place.

long_live_the_snow_041

We had a classic b&w view.

long_live_the_snow_042

At Paulius’ place.

Together with Martynas working on a jewellery project.

long_live_the_snow_043

long_live_the_snow_044

Accurate hands.

long_live_the_snow_045

long_live_the_snow_046

The bigger part of the evening Paulius spent drawing contour maps for his studies.

Poor guy.

long_live_the_snow_047

The gear.

long_live_the_snow_048

At CAC.

Just before leaving to Paulius’ homestad.

I understood I missed that camera so much.

long_live_the_snow_049

Arrived.

Since it was lots of snow we had to leave our cars and to have a 10 min. walk  till we reached our destination.

long_live_the_snow_050

And that’s what we found.

The real country side life.

long_live_the_snow_051

Mixed town-country still-life.

long_live_the_snow_052

What a clever guy Martynas is.

(it’s good when the shoes do not stink)

long_live_the_snow_053

We decided to have a look around just before the dusk.

long_live_the_snow_054

First when I saw this it was a pitty not to have a Yashica loaded with Kodak 160 nc there.

But now I like it on b&w even better.

long_live_the_snow_055

That was Martynas birthday we where celebrating.

long_live_the_snow_056

long_live_the_snow_057

That was strange to have that white tablecloth and the candles in that old country side house.

long_live_the_snow_058

Domas reading the lockal newspaper.

To browse through the commercials in these small newspapers is quite a funny way of spending time.

long_live_the_snow_059

long_live_the_snow_060

Morning.

Karolis – the samurai.

Or the palm-head (witch one is better for you)

long_live_the_snow_061

long_live_the_snow_062

It was such a perfect sun so we spent quite a time outside.

long_live_the_snow_063

What a happy face.

long_live_the_snow_064

This one describes the mood of the time we had there perfectly.

long_live_the_snow_065

long_live_the_snow_066

The other evening.

We had a great old stove and prepared delicious hotpot in it.

That kind of the pot I saw just on TV before visiting Paulius’ homestead.

long_live_the_snow_067

Romantics with the bear cans.

long_live_the_snow_068

We even had a TV screening.

long_live_the_snow_069

Back to color.

All the days were perfectly warm (in the context of an early March of course).

long_live_the_snow_070

Martynas decided to let some air in to the frozen pond.

long_live_the_snow_071

long_live_the_snow_072

Using the last opportunity to have fun on the snow.

long_live_the_snow_073

Paulius’ try.

(It’s important to cover the face in case you get snow attack.)

long_live_the_snow_074

After our training in the houmstead’s yard we decided to search for higher mountains.

long_live_the_snow_075

GO!

(To tell the truth, just by a hair I was not hit by Dalia when taking this one)

long_live_the_snow_076

Happy watchers.

long_live_the_snow_077

Getting ready.

long_live_the_snow_078

Samurai on a snowboard.

long_live_the_snow_079

Karolis tried that kind of hill landing to.

long_live_the_snow_080

Just before leaving – the guys were going out fishing.
