Lake is for swimming, London is for museums
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010Just few weeks passed by and here I am again!
Some shots from the time.
‘nJOY!
Some flat lake near Vievis.
Games.
I lost all the times.
Damn that.
Same week different lake.
Happy sis.
Hiding.
Here I grabbed Dalia’s Leica and took this one.
On-the-water-lesson.
The series with one glass.
Just after the swim.
Mini-guy Ku and his injured leg just in front of the hospital.
(I saw the x-rays and decided he got a bone split – this was the time I was happy to be wrong)
Kultflux.
And a wine.
Took this one while discussing the details of Contraforma’s commission.
Bar in Vilnius’ airport.
Leaving to London.
Plain was late as usual.
But this time it was weird since the pilot decided to explain how some things on the plain do not function and how they will be fixed according to Boing’s manual.
Good to have a manual.
Arrived.
The hospitable hosts – Giedrė and Aidan giving us lots of London-hints.
London A to Z – the book I carried all the time in my pocket (needed a huge one).
Going out.
Tube escalator – they travel on the left side everywhere.
Needed time to get used to this.
Classics.
At tate modern.
What a HUGE space.
Same place.
Light was HUGE to.
Just outside tate.
Two girls facing the wall while eating.
Just focused on them and then suddenly got this peace sign.
Compared to NYC felt so noticeable in London.
Lithuanian?
Tate again.
Britain this time.
See Dalia’s picture here.
Was searching for Francis Bacon and his popes.
Found just Crucifiction series.
But still happy about that – was curious to see it since I studied in academy.
Saw this and remembered adventures with the pigeons at our balcony.
Damn!
Small talking series while eating in China town.
Tourists.
Were crossing the park.
Could somebody explain why the word pelican is capitalized?
Saw this and got a flashback of NYC
(It’s not the first time I caught myself comparing London to NYC – can’t explain why)
Rain.
Just took this one and it ended (somehow was expecting to get wet more often).
Could not resist taking this one.
He used it as a megaphone – was singing into it.
At the pub.
We took a walk to the place we stayed at.
Was surprised to see these empty streets.
Morning coffee+cake
And the view in front of us.
We took a walk by the canal.
Was surprised to hear, that people are living in these boats – it has to be hell cold there during wintertime.
In Victoria and Albert museum.
Same place just after the rain.
Random.
One of the flea markets we visited on sunday.
Same place.
This one is about coicidence in photography.
And this is my favorite!
Dalia browsing the LPs.
London is not just for museums but for music stores too.
Discovering shopping results.
Took a bit longer walk by the canal.
Fully packed.
We passed this place like five times.
Finally I decided to capture him.
Outside one of the pub…
(Here I felt noticable again)
… and inside the pub.
Modern electrical system.
(posting both because can not decide which I like better)
English.
Giraffe with diamond hoofs.
Few about surveillance.
Same place, different angle.
In NYC I made some mobile communication series.
The men in suits were the series I made in London
(these are smaller as the amount of time I spent in GB)
This guy was so surprised I was capturing him, that he looked behind him four or five times.
(this one goes into I-was-spoted series too)
This time I was waiting till he turns at gives me a look.
Just outside the Photographers Gallery.
Saw the great exhibition of Sally Mann.
The balance is way better with a suit.
Almost symmetry.
This one is about gentlemens.
(taken from double decker)
Just before leaving to airport we spent some time in City.
Not enought that’s for sure.
A hip shot.
It was cloudy all the days and I was shooting on tri-x almost all the time. And then suddenly this sunlight.
On the other hand it’s not so bad – it’s possible to take pictures like this one – f22, 1/125.
Leaving that beautiful light.
Last glass of London Pride and last sunrays in London.
Cheers!
